The Birth Hour

Online Classes for Soon-to-Be Parents

Aside from relishing your last few weeks of sleeping in and going to the movies on a whim, the months leading up to childbirth are an important time to prep for the big day and beyond. Luckily, there’s no need to spend your precious weekends in a dreaded hospital birthing class. You can learn everything you need to know from the couch instead…

Know Your Options, a comprehensive online childbirth course from The Birth Hour  (an incredible podcast, blog and online resource center), takes expecting parents through 12 modules covering pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and newborn care. Through evidence-based information, you’ll feel empowered to make decisions that are right for you and your family. So, no matter what type of birth you’re planning, it’s a judgment-free zone. There’s even a private Facebook group where you can ask the Birth Hour’s childbirth educator, lactation consultant, and birth and postpartum doula whatever’s on your mind. And we bet there’s a lot on your mind.

One of the key perks of doing this online course is that you and your partner can watch on your own schedule, in your own home. (You may even want to give Netflix a break and binge watch these instead.) And if something goes right over your head (#babybrain), simply re-watch it. Yay for not having to learn about incredibly awkward topics like perineal massage with complete strangers!

And because we want to give you a sneak peak of just how outstanding this series is, we’ve partnered with the Birth Hour to offer three free classes to get you started. Check them out here!

PS: Once you sign up for Know Your Options, you’ll get lifetime access—they’re the only program that does so—so you can always revisit the info for baby #2 (or more!). Better yet, 75% of the course is eligible to be reimbursed by a a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). Hooray!

Medieval understanding of physiology had an impact on attitudes to sex, just as much as did the teachings of the church. Though who knows how much it had an impact on everyday life. And something about how childbirth fitted into community life, and rearing the outcome. 149 Sex, Childbirth and Children Just to warn you its an episode with the odd explicit bit, I have to say. Just so you know.
