A Winter Car Seat Essential

RIDE IN (SAFE) STYLE WITH NIDO

Most babies don’t enjoy being put in their car seat (if you have one that does, we want to know your secret). During the cold months, a big, puffy winter coat can create an overheated, cranky car companion and get in the way of safety.

The Nido car seat wrap protects your little one from the cold, without a coat (just but don’t forget to pack one for later!). Designed with input from The Car Seat Lady, the back oval cutout provides easy access to the five-point harness. All of the straps and buckles will securely rest directly against your baby’s body (so you know you’re complying with safety standards), without interference from the fabric. Babies will love the feeling of being swaddled when they’re out on the town, or they can ride with their hands free to play.

From road trips to running errands, thanks to the Nido, your baby can be snug as a bug in a… car seat.

I didn’t think anything was supposed to go over the baby’s head… ?

    • Sarah Nau says:

      Hi Carolyn,
The concern is too much padding or “fluff” between your baby’s back and the harness of the car seat, which would prevent you from achieving a secure and snug fit in the seat. The Nido actually has a cut-out in the back which allows for the harness to be fitted tightly and safely around your baby. The Nido can actually be put on entirely after they’ve been snapped in, ensuring you’re able to get the snuggest fit while riding in the car seat.

how can I purchase one of these? I could not locate a link
    Thank you

    • Sarah Nau says:

      Hi Franchesca,

There is a “love it? buy it!” button in the post above which will allow you to purchase one from the manufacturer.

  3. Samantha says:

Has this been flame resistant tested? That is also a safety concern, carseats and anything that comes with the carseat from the manufacturer is flame resistant. Put anything “after market” on your carseat not only is a safety concern, but could also void your warrenty.

  4. Leo says:

Could this also work for a toddler?

    • Sarah Nau says:

      Hi Leo,

The large is designed for children up to 18 months, so it should work for older kids, depending on the child’s size.

  5. Stephanie says:

If it hasn’t been crash tested with each and every car seat model, how do I know that it is actually ‘safe’ with my car seat? I’ve always been told never to use accessories that didn’t come with my car seat because the car seat wasn’t crash tested with that accessory and therefore it could make the car seat unsafe or unpredictable in a crash. My vehicle has heat for a reason…

    • Nicole says:

This is just like putting a blanket over your baby in his/her carseat. There’s no need to crash test with a blanket over the child. Per above the Nido can be put on after your child is already in the seat. I wouldn’t consider this an accessory, more like a blanket.
