weeLove: Attention Sleep-Deprived Parents

Baby Dream Machine

The 5-in-1 for Better Sleep

Parents often go to great lengths to get their babies to sleep, which can be exhausting for the person who’s not trying to snooze! Newsflash: little ones don’t need an elaborate, lengthy routine to get their ZZZs. All it takes is a dream machine…

The Baby Dream Machine isn’t your typical sound machine. Created by two moms, who were tired of being tired, they set out to use their combined backgrounds in professional sleep training and in developing children’s products to create something better. The result is a 5-in-1 children’s sleep device that uses a combination of scientifically-proven, natural sleep inducing methods to help your kiddo drift off to dreamland and stay asleep longer.

It combines red-light therapy, pink noise, a cool-mist humidifier, and aromatherapy to soothe and set the scene for sleep. Red-light therapy triggers the body to produce melatonin, a hormone that’s naturally released to help us sleep, and the optional aromatherapy function uses soothing lavender oil to help calm and relax (good news: they even include a helpful guide on safe dosages if using oils—for example, they highlight oils aren’t recommended for babies under 3 months old). The cool-mist humidifier ensures the room’s humidity levels are optimal, which leads to longer sleep stretches. And pink noise (which is different from white noise!) uses a balanced mix of high and low frequencies to promote better quality sleep.

In order to “see” the benefits, it’s recommended for ages 5 months—7+ years. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use it in the early months–babies just need to be a bit older in order to be developmentally ready to respond.

Now if only there was a dream machine to unload the dishwasher…
