We’re kicking off a new tradition this year that’s a pre-Christmas gift for everybody in the family (and works just as well on the eight nights of Hanukkah). Mr. and Mrs. Claus are making an early delivery of 25 individually-wrapped children’s books, and we’ll be opening and reading one every night, starting on December 1. A little expensive to buy 25 books in one fell swoop? Yup, but we think of it as the gift that keeps on giving, with new favorites to read as a family the other 11 months of the year. Secondary bonus: it also helps spread out the insanity of a single day of present-madness on December 25.
